din pasiune pentru lemn
We are happy to talk about the houses we built and to share our passion for wood.
- Massive wood constructions have particular characteristics and are different from wood frame and panel constructions. The latter have a reduced volume of wood and are predominantly produced with OSB panels, mineral wool insulation, exterior and interior paneling finishes or even masonry.
For our houses we use only massive wood elements as peeled and shaped round logs or massive rectangular beams. No additional insulation is required and the final appearance is massive wood both on the outside and inside.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
These are the questions we are frequently receiving from our customers and we hereby include our answers. For more detailed information, you can contact us by phone or email.
HOW MUCH DOES A MASSIVE WOOD HOUSE COST?
The price of massive wooden houses is obviously influenced by the volume of wood required - a variable that depends on the number of rooms / walls, their height, surface / number of door and window openings, frame, etc. - and the labor. The calculation is rigorously carried out using specialized software for designing wooden houses. The price therefore varies between 450 and 800 Euros (VAT included) for one built square meter of construction.
IS A MASSIVE WOOD HOUSE A LOW BUDGET OPTION COMPARED WITH OTHER HOUSES?
Turnkey wooden houses are at the same price level as those made of traditional masonry (brick, concrete, etc.). Massive wood constructions are a choice for nature lovers, ecological materials and for those who desire a healthy habitat and a unique appearance characteristic of massive wood and especially handcrafted logs.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN OUR SELLING PRICE?
The sale price includes all the wooden elements of the house, its assembly service, adaptation of architecture projects to the specifics of massive wood constructions, consultancy throughout the project development, ten-year warranty.
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN OUR SELLLING PRICE ?
The price of the house does not include the architectural design and construction permit, the foundation, the plumbing and electrical installations, the carpentry (doors and windows), the transportation of the house elements to the assembly site. These products and services will be provided by third-parties and are to be contracted separately. Our company is specialized exclusively in the manufacturing and processing of wood elements, from sawing to finishing and mounting of the house.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROUND LOGS AND RECTANGULAR BEAMS HOUSES?
Apart from the house design, that obviously depends on each person's preferences, there are differences in the settlement of the construction, particularities that are addressed through construction and assembly techniques. The round log houses, as a result of the fact that they are made with green wood, have a settlement of 6-8% on the total height of the construction, settlement that is taking about 2-3 years. In order to ensure this settlement is not affecting the construction there are special techniques applied during construction and the assembly of the house.(special spaces are left for doors, windows, vertical elements). Also during the warranty period specific adjustments of the fastening parts are made until the settlement is completed.
Houses made of solid beams have a minimal, insignificant settlement without any effects on the construction, because they work entirely with previously dried wood. This makes it easier for the builder to provide solutions that facilitate the subsequent settlement of the house, without impacting its structure. Another difference is that in the case of log houses, the construction is pre-assembled at the factory, processing and placing each row according to the contour of the others, while in the case of beam houses there is no pre-assembly stage at the production site.
Last but not least, the two construction techniques differ in their exterior and interior appearance, with log houses being spectacular due to their massive appearance and the uniqueness of each element, while houses made of massive rectangular beams have a rigorous and unitary appearance given by the mechanical processing of the beams.
Massive wood walls naturally absorb and retain the energy of the sun and then release it; they are not cold like brick or concrete ones; even during the winter season, their touch is pleasant and warm just like the ambiance created by the color of the wood.
